Manipal Academy of Higher Education, in collaboration with UK government bodies, is conducting the UK–India HealthTech Accelerator Programme to support innovation in digital healthcare. The initiative is designed for HealthTech startups and also involves innovators, policymakers, healthcare professionals, investors, and industry leaders from both India and the United Kingdom.
The programme aims to strengthen collaboration between the two countries while promoting advancements in healthcare technology. Through this initiative, startups will gain opportunities to connect with experts, exchange ideas, and explore solutions that can improve healthcare systems.
The accelerator is planned as a three-day programme that brings together stakeholders from India and the UK to encourage networking, knowledge sharing, and discussions around digital health innovation. Participants will engage in sessions focused on healthcare technology, entrepreneurship, and cross-border collaboration.
As part of the initiative, 25 HealthTech startups from across India will be selected for the fully funded accelerator programme. These selected companies will participate in mentorship sessions, workshops, and interactions with healthcare experts, investors, and industry professionals.
Out of the participating startups, six companies will be chosen for a fully funded immersion visit to the United Kingdom. The visit is intended to provide firsthand exposure to the UK healthcare ecosystem and create opportunities to interact with industry stakeholders and potential collaborators.
The programme is also structured to help startups better understand international healthcare systems, regulatory frameworks, and market opportunities in both countries. By providing access to valuable networks and expert guidance, the accelerator aims to support startups in refining their solutions and expanding their reach.
Beyond startup participation, the initiative also serves as a platform for collaboration between institutions and healthcare experts from India and the UK. It encourages the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices related to digital health and healthcare innovation.
